I think you're 3/4 right, but I think our "black" heroine are actually going to be based on Beauty and the Beast (primarily focusing on "beast") just from the song lyrics alone. That being said, they've got the first episode in their website. Seriously looking forward to see where they take it from that first step since they managed to get some of the exposition through without much of a pacing problem. I actually think I may be able to set a few of the "positions" of the team. My turn at conjecture:
Ruby Rose (Red): Tactician/Sniper - She has one of the more difficult weapons out of the group for sheer size alone and can cover more than one position in combat, so she'd probably be the variable fighter.
White: Mage/Caster - She seems to be in control of something similar to magic from what we've seen from the preview, so I'd see her taking the role of a sort of glass cannon caster.
Black: Tank/Fighter - Despite having a possible long-ranged whip from what we've seen from the preview, I'd say that it's still more designed for close-ranged combat and she definitely can take a few serious hits.
Yang Rose (Yellow): Berserker - We may not have seen her fight in the first episode, but we've seen her in the previews and she is kind of the quick to anger kind of girl in combat.
Again, totally looking forward to the next episode.
Have you guys seen the new RWBY episodes? Their AMAZING!!!
Oh, I've seen all the episodes. I'm going to love what will occur in the next season. With what happened with *SPOILERS* Penny bringing down the White Fang's ships using wires and blades, their gonna up the ante and make things much more epic the next time round.
I'm expecting a chunin exam sort of deal in this next season. I cannot wait.
any news of season 2?
Nothing new that I've heard of. All I know is that it'll start during the summer, which seems to be the trend for starting new seasons of their webseries. The trailer will be played at RTX.
got to make a not of that
I have just recently finished Season/Volume 1. I started over from the beginning, because I got what you could call a false start when I made my first attempt last year. I have to say that I really, really like this series. It has a lot of love put into it, it's quirky and charming, and Monty Oum has really proudly and stylishly shown three things he really loves:
1.) Simply beautiful fight scenes.
2.) Strong women kicking all the ###.
3.) More Dakka.
I am definitely looking forward to Season/Volume? 2.
Have you watched the directors commentary? If not, I highly recommend it. Its hilarious.
Volume 2 has premiered! Yeah!!
[READERS BEWARE, SPOILERS MAY SCARE!!]
[NO, SERIOUSLY, I'M ABOUT TO SPOIL ALL OF VOLUME 2]
[ARE YOU SURE? YOU SHOULD GO AND WATCH IT BEFORE YOU READ THIS]
[ARE YOU BACK? OKAY. HERE WE GO - !!]
Okay, that was pretty epic.
I like the direction the writing is going. I genuinely was confused, then kind of scared by the bomb plot to lead the Grimm into the city. Neo is a delightful little gremlin-troll, yes she is! And all sorts of new appearances abound!
We've got Emerald, the "push out my boobs and smile so this chick likes me"-gal
Sassy mister Mercury Black
Cinder Fall, the lovely lady who's got it all
Neo Politan, A Troll, A Lady, And a Pint-Sized Warrior
Team CFVY, who add a refreshing benchmark of skill and familiarity for a team of students
- Featuring Coco, the supersonic babe in a million dollar car. Her weapon is: Gucci.
Raven Branwen, who is totally not setting up to at least be a red herring for Yang's mom, what'chu talkin' 'bout
And Guess Who's Back? Back Again? Adam's Back! Tell A Friend!
Overall, that was a great way to wrap up Vol. II in my opinion, and I cannot wait to see the tournament.
...At least we get X-Ray and Vav to hold us over.
LLLLLLLLLLLLLET'S FIGHT CRIME!!
It was awesome as fuck. I'm pumped. I want to watch the commentary.
Not too surprising to see fellow Monty Oum fans here :P
RWBY really is great, and I'm looking forward to seeing more of the grand plot.
