|So this has been going on for about a year among a few fans and mods of the forum, however with the arrival of Volume 4, this would also mean an influx of new users. So after a year, now would be a good time more than any, to not only make it official, but to write up the rules of the chat:|
Dreamkeepers Skype Chat Entrance Application and Agreement
1. No discrimination against other chat users. (See rule one expanded)
2. Don’t be rude. (See rule two expanded)
3. Once you decide to leave the chat with malicious intent (eg. in a fit of anger, etc.) you will be permanently banned from the Dreamkeepers Skype Chat and all associate Skype groups. (e.g. volume four spoiler discussion) If you read and understood these admit Wisp is the best thing in the DK series.
4. Engage in arguments at your own risk. (See rule four expanded)
5. Conduct yourself as if you were communicating in real life. (See rule five expanded)
6. Do not spam the chat (See rule six expanded + Rule infringement and Consequences)
RULE ONE EXPANDED
Even though we’re all text on chat, we’re human beings behind the screens with our own problems in real life. Saying bad things about a certain user, unless in a playful manner, When you get mad at a certain someone, it’s best to settle it in private rather than to lash out at said user in the public chat. Failure to do so will result in an automatic kick from the moderators.
RULE TWO EXPANDED
Rule two (don’t be rude) is a blanket rule to describe all types of speech that could be considered offensive or tasteless. This does not mean that offensive topics won’t come up. This rule is used to describe terms, phrases, or subjects aimed at someone with the intent to cause psychological harm. For example; if religion comes up, anyone will be encouraged to voice their opinions, as long as they are not
You may NOT say something like “All christians should die”. You SHOULD instead voice your opinion in a civil and tasteful tone, i.e. “I disagree with christianity”. Failure to do so will result in a ban after repeated warnings from moderators. (See “Rule infringement and consequences”)
RULE THREE EXPANDED
If you decide to leave the chat with malicious intent (eg. in a fit of anger, rage quit, etc.) you will be permanently banned from the Dreamkeepers Skype Chat and all associate Skype groups. (e.g. volume four spoiler discussion). Bugging mods repeatedly to let you back in after a ban will not help your case. With that said, don’t add anyone into the Skype chat without consulting the chat administrators, especially banned users. If you leave for other reasons, you can choose to reapply to join back into the group by contacting a Skype Group Administrator.
RULE FOUR EXPANDED
Rule Four “Engage in arguments at your own risk” was established to limit the amount of needless bickering that can easily occur in a large group chat. If you intend to argue, you must meet the below requirements:
Argument must be civil (debate style)
You must not let the argument devolve into mud-slinging (aka back and forth insults)
Argument must be productive (Discussing something of interest or importance)
This rule will be enforced lightly. Arguments will happen, and we understand and encourage this. We believe that it can strengthen relationships. If needed, the arguments will be broken up. If you are told off for infringing upon this rule, you may be subject to below consequences based on number of infringements and intensity of such.
RULE FIVE EXPANDED
Rule Five (conduct yourself as you would in real life) is almost akin to Rule Two (don’t be rude), with a few differences. What this rule means is, when chatting, make sure you maintain intelligibility, proper grammar (lightly enforced) , and productive conversation. Pretend you’re in a cafe with your friend. We are real people, so communicating like you’re not will not only result in a warning from the admins, but give other people in the chat a improper or negative opinion about you based on your speech and how you conduct yourself. Failure to comply with this rule will result in warnings or a ban.
RULE SIX EXPANDED
Rule Six (Do not spam) is enforced in order to maintain order within the chat. You are not to spam the chat with senseless characters or any unintelligible or useless messages. You may, however, post multiple messages IF they are intelligent, and convey ideas, thoughts, or attitudes. Failure to comply with this rule will result in a warning or ban. (See Rule Infringement And Consequences.)
PART TWO: USER APPLICATION FORM
Fill out this from right here:
AFTER COMPLETING THIS FORM, COPY AND PASTE QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS AND SEND TO KIRITO (FOE THE VOLUME 4 SPOILERS CHAT, WHERE YOU STRICTLY DISCUSS ABOUT VOLUME 4) OR JUDAS (FOR THE MAIN CHAT FOR OTHER BANTER AND WHATNOT) ON THE DREAMKEEPERS FORUM.
(You'll have a better chance asking Kit, since I'm seldom active on the forums here!)
RULE INFRINGEMENT AND CONSEQUENCES
Consequences for breaking the aforementioned rules.
The first tier is for very small infractions, which result in a small warning. This includes:
First Time Spam
Minor Disruption of Peace
A small infringement will be raised to a tier-two if it is done repeatedly, or done when a moderator tells you to discontinue your disruptive actions. Some breaks of the rule may result in immediate tier-two action which includes, but is not limited to:
One Day Probation
Being rude (in a hurtful manner), being hateful, and disrespecting fellow chat-goers can immediately be considered tier-two infractions.
Aggressively repeated small infringements over long periods of time (greater than one week) will be considered tier-three infractions. Consequences for a TTI are:
Automatic One-Week Probation
Three-Day removal period
Being Considered for Permanent Removal
A ban entails removal from chat permanently. This can occur due to continued infractions after continued warnings from the moderators. If you are being considered for a ban, it must be held up with a majority vote from the staff. After which, you will be permanently removed from the chat.
*note: If you are banned from the Forums, you are automatically banned from the DK Skype Chat and all associated instant messaging platforms.
This skype chat is basically free reign topic-wise, like most stable and active group chats tend to be. That being said, be warned beforehand that the chat does cover the entire range of the topic-spectrum. This includes 18+ moments, so everyone willing to enter the chat must be prepared for NSFW material in form of speech, roleplay, and images (which MUST BE DENOTED AS SUCH BEFOREHAND)
AFTER SUBMITTING YOUR APPLICATION
After submitting the application and accepting the terms, you will be on a two week observation period completed on the forum. After which, you will be inserted into the Skype Chat and free to talk to other users.
Probation refers to a period of observation in which the person in question is watched to make sure they adhere to the rules. Any infractions during this period can lead to temporary muting or banning.
