Hey Ugot! Sorry for the delay, I've been side-tracked by real life. I'll get you white-listed right now!

Would you mind providing your age too, so other members have an idea of what's acceptable around you?

Also, I'll be editing the first post. Check for changes.

-EDIT-
Oh. Seems I can't. I can only edit my most recent post.

Right. I'm going ahead and putting this into a new post until I'm able to edit the first one.

Fans of Minecraft and Readers of Dreamkeepers! The server is LIVE!
The ip is: 94.23.118.245
----
We've started a new map and are now running mods on the server.

You will need to download the standalone launcher for Feed the Beast. It can be found here: http://feed-the-beast.com/

We are using the Direwolf20 mod pack.
If you get a bad login error, restart the game and you should receive a notice asking you if you'd like to update to the latest version of the modpack. Click yes. Everything should be good to go after that.
----

When you first log in, you'll find yourself in a village. The first place you should visit is the Rule Book House. It's the large Pagoda in the back of the village. Be sure to buy the books the villagers are selling, Especially the "General Rules" book sold by the villager in the back. It costs 1 oak plank. Other books shall help you get started in some of the mods we're currently running, Like Thaumcraft and The Twilight Forest.

Be sure to check them out if you wish, but you are required to grab "General Rules" before you leave spawn.

Also, These aren't rules, but suggestions as a common courtesy to your fellow members.

Please do not leave 1x1 pillars in the everywhere. If you pillar up for whatever reason, tear it down when you're down, please.

And don't leave floating trees. If you begin chopping down a tree, don't leave any floating logs behind.

That's all I wanted to say! You take care, DreamCrafters!

Jetpacks, that is all, no need for useless nerd-poling >>.

What about the new 1.5 update?

Hakuzo3/15/13 5:08pm
it will probably be some time before mods update to 1.5 in FTB. That could be another month or more.

What's the problem with the server?

Sorry folks. I've been without internet the last few days. However, I'm back now and can get to work on fixing the server again.
Due to the fact it constantly keeps going down, I'm gonna take it offline for a few days as I try to solve what the problem is.

However, it's probably the fact that we've explored so much and have tons built. We'll see

Right. So the issue is indeed how much has been explored in both the overworld and in the Twilight Forest. I'm going to try and trick the server into thinking that it's dealing with a brand new map, while keeping the current one, so the RAM won't be such an issue.

This is going to take probably all day as I have to manually copy the map to my computer and that takes hours.

Then I delete the map the server has, and reupload the copy I saved to my computer. That will also take hours.

But hopefully, it will pay off and the RAM issue will be resolved.

However, if it's not, we will need to make a choice. Do we keep the current map, with all it's issues? or do we start a new one with rules in place to prevent this problem in the future, and still keep using FTB?

Or do we need to switch back to Vanilla Minecraft? No mods at all?
Think about it, hopefully it won't come to that.

Too much explored eh? Looks like I'm a HUGE part of the problem.
Sorry 'bout that.

Hmm...well an easy solution to prevent exploring could be to construct a huge wall of bedrock some distance from the spawn point/central town (like 5 or 6 thousands blocks)Just a thought. Also if we keep FTB then we need to place a limit on the size of MFFS's, as we saw during my tests, the shield can cause server lag if large enough.

I have good news! We can keep the map!

Yay!

But, I'm going to delete the Twilight Forest and a few other things to help cut down on the amount of memory anyways. I also ask that folks don't go so far out to build in the future. You can still explore and travel, but keep it reasonable.

Also, Mystcraft is COMPLETELY off-limits, including Admins. This includes Linking books.

I don't know if that was actually causing any of the RAM problems to begin with, I'm just playing it safe.

Server will be up in about an hour after I move some files around.

Well. I've done all I can do, short of deleting the world and starting over. RAM is averaging at about 35% at all times. Before it was constantly skimming close to the 90's and would crash the server if it touched 100% even for a moment.

So, we're in a good spot for now. Shaved off quite a bit of the clutter that was slowing it down.

I'm going to go ahead and turn it back on and see how it handles folks logging in again.

I'll be online, but I'll be mostly AFK on the server as I'll be monitoring things in the background. If you need me, message me on Skype.
