I get what you mean Calico. Like any really good, effective character, she speaks to something inside all of us. We can all understand her plights and desires, because everyone views their authority figures with contempt and mistrust at some point in their lives, whether its deserved or not.
Additionally, she embodies the character elements of "The Trickster," not because she's sneaky, but because she wants to be a catalyst for change, even if that involves considerable mischief, and this fills her life with conflict and pain. And we can all relate to the pain and hopelessness of being trapped despite your best efforts to change your situation.
In short, she's hilarious and relatable!
Oh my God Namah's crushing on Bast was so cute.
Plus, does anyone else detect a parallel there?
Mace meets Lilith by crashing into her while covered in fish slime.
Namah tries to talk to Bast, and gets tripped by a startled vorp.
Plus, she reacted about how I react to things. For worse. I would know.
I also love to see that whole -Namah the Namanian- thing coming through again.
P.S.: Mace has a nickname. "Commander Tact" ohmygodnamahgavehimanickname
excuse me while i sing about my feelings
I guessed that would happen haha, gotta have a love triangle somewhere.
Does anyone find Namah a bit contradictory? In the first volume, she asks Basts "What's that fabulous aroma?" I'm assuming she likes it? Or is full of sarcasm?
Nevertheless, if it isn't sarcasm, in the Prelude, she complains about the vent being super dirty from all the dust, which makes her closer to being neat and tidy like Lilith and all.
I could proceed to assume she changed as she grew older, but I wanna know what you guys think.
Do you mean Mace, in the first volume? And I think she was being sarcastic.
I have stumbled across something...Disconcerting.
Namah has all of the triarchic signs of a psychopath.
Boldness, disinhibition, and meanness; she's not afraid of others, hates figures of authority, has poor emotional control, and we've seen that she's been known to assert herself somewhat cruelly. Quick someone prove me wrong I don't like where this train of thought is going
she frightens me and i like it
She really only hates her dad and the people that lock her up. Other then that she doesn't care for anyone else in authority, she's not a physco but she's a new brand of something that can only be adentified as being called Namah.
I was...Inaccurate, somewhat.
I believe a more accurate representation is a disregard for authority.
Plus, we've seen that she can be very meanspirited to her "friends." I mean, she approximately -likes- Mace, and she shoved a frog down the back of his coat.
and let us not forget that she kicked a defenseless animal and it made her feel better [/SPOILERS]
I think that this demands a closer review, because while she obviously cares dearly for Lilith, and likes their pet ryuu-neko, and has the hots for Bast...She has a strange way of treating people she -likes-, like Mace.
So much for stereotypes, indeed.
OI that there is just joking around as friends and that defenseless animial kinda had it coming it went into Namah danger zone.
If you recall Mace through a rock at her face.
No he didn't.
Wisp turned intangible, and the rock went through her.
Mace is just unlucky.
I have a question, I've been unable to answer myself looking through the comics. Does Namah have really short hair, or is it just purple skin? I've been wanting to do some fanart for a while, but since I want to try to texture it pseudo-realistically, this has always stumped me.
Ummm, well, her hair is kind of readily apparent, but yes, she has hair.
No, I think it's just purple skin.
She has purple skin, but she also has actual hair on the top of her head. Thought I should clarify this cause it seemed like their was confusion.
Should have said fur, sorry for the confusion.
I love how Namah actually hasn't become -that- much more calmed down since Prelude.
Spirits save the Dreamworld if anyone ever puts a springer in Namah's hands. I can't wait for the group to get back together. That will be some kind of reunion.
I am tentatively putting this forward: Namah x Mace, I will ship them in hell.
My shipping instincts can't be tamed
