This illustration was created just prior to the Anthrocon in summer of 2008. It showcases the Indigos, characters introduced in the then - premiering Volume 2. This pose was a lot of fun to create, as the Indigos can be so over-the-top colorful - literally and figuratively. I tried out some new photoshop tricks to take a stab at the lighting, which was designed to look like stage lighting using multiple spot sources. And I don’t know precisely why, but the aqua hair color in this pic just seems to top off the whole thing nicely for me. Some other colors were experimented with, but they just didn’t look as good as the bright chromatic blue here.
