This illustration was created in summer of 2008 just prior to the Anthrocon. The colors make this one of my personal favorites… Looking at it for too long almost makes me want to go to sleep, everything is so soft and warm looking. I was trying to make the lighting look very tactile by imitating the Pixar effect of subsurface scattering… I don’t know how well I actually succeeded on that front, but at least it gave me something to think about while shading. Based on all the toys and such on the bed, I’m not quite sure if Lilith wore Cuddles out, or if it was the other way around.
